What readiness measures
Every question you answer is sorted into one of three states, and the band is built from those - not from a running average of scores.
- Secure - you demonstrated it independently, under valid conditions.
- Leaky - partly demonstrated, assisted, or inconsistent across attempts.
- Unbuilt - not enough valid evidence to say anything yet.
A chapter you answered correctly once with a hint is not secure. Neither is one you got right in October and have not touched since. Both are useful signals; neither is proof.
What it refuses to claim
- It is not a rank or percentile prediction. Those are separate, modelled, and labelled as such.
- It is not a personality or ability type. Nothing here scores you as a person.
- It never shows “100% ready”. Above the calibrated threshold it says exam-ready band, because certainty about an exam nobody has sat yet would be a lie.
- It is not a leaderboard. Your readiness is not compared publicly with anyone else’s.
How confidence is earned
The band comes with a confidence stage, so you can tell a first guess from a measured result. Confidence is earned with evidence, not with time spent.
- C0
- Building your first estimateFewer than 10 eligible diagnostic questions.
- C1
- Rough estimateAt least 10 adaptive diagnostic questions.
- C2
- Getting clearAt least 25 eligible questions across at least 60% of your covered chapters.
- C3
- ConfidentEverything in C2, plus one valid timed sectional.
- C4
- SolidEverything in C3, plus one valid full mock.
Which attempts count
Only attempts that can carry weight are counted, and the server decides - not the page you are reading.
- Hinted work informs what to practice next, but never counts as secure independent evidence.
- Attempts flagged as assisted, think-aloud, or made without real effort are excluded outright.
- Older evidence is weighted down. A band built on last term’s work quietly stops describing you.
- Answering along with a Live question does not count on its own. It counts only when that question and attempt satisfy the diagnostic design.
If your readiness goes down
It can, and the reason is always something you can act on: evidence expired, coverage widened to chapters you have not proved yet, or you changed your target exam. A drop is information about the measurement, not a judgement about you - and you will always be told which of those it was.
Readiness and JM Credits are separate
Answering questions moves your evidence. Credits are a separate thing, tied to signup and promotions. Nothing here pays you to answer more questions, and nothing here is tuned to keep you on the site longer.
